During his visit to the project, His Highness was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Supreme President and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, and His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning in the Emirate of Dubai.

During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum heard from His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, an explanation about the developments of the project, which has exceeded 95% completion rate, and which extends over a distance of 1,400 metres, and aims to bring about a qualitative shift in the design of the beach and its infrastructure, by providing integrated facilities and recreational and sports services that keep pace with population and tourism growth, and meet the aspirations of various segments of society, as the beach is scheduled to return. He added: The Jumeirah Beach 1 development project is one of the main projects implemented by Dubai Municipality as part of the objectives of the comprehensive plan to develop public beaches in the emirate, which aims to develop the infrastructure of Dubai’s beaches in accordance with international design concepts and standards that enhance Dubai’s leadership and attractiveness as the best city with its beach destinations in the world.

The project includes developing a comprehensive infrastructure that includes health and service facilities distributed along the beach, including restrooms, showering areas, and changing rooms, designed in accordance with the best international practices to ensure comfort and privacy.

The project also includes the construction of pedestrian paths, cycling and running paths, in addition to areas for recreational games, beach activities, and spaces designated for seasonal events.

The project provides designated parking lots for vehicles and buses, including parking lots for charging environmentally friendly cars, and various infrastructure networks to enhance the efficiency of services and support environmental sustainability.

As part of Dubai Municipality’s drive to make Dubai’s beaches smart and managed with artificial intelligence techniques, the project pays special attention to employing modern technologies by providing wireless internet services, electronic screens, and smart safety deposit boxes, in addition to enhancing the safety system through beach rescue services supported by artificial intelligence techniques, and linking surveillance systems to the central control rooms in Dubai Municipality and in coordination with the relevant authorities.

In addition, engineering solutions were adopted, namely raising the beach levels and feeding it with clean sand in quantities amounting to 250 thousand cubic meters, which contributes to enhancing its ability to respond to the challenges of rising sea levels. This was done in accordance with specialized technical and environmental studies, in order to achieve the sustainability of the beach in the long term, and achieve the highest levels of flexible response to adapt to climate variables.

The project includes offering more than 15 investment opportunities in the areas of beach activities, sales outlets, restaurants and services, which contributes to stimulating economic activity and supporting the tourism sector.
