According to the European Statistical Office’s data, which was published today, Thursday, the unemployment rate in the Eurozone recorded a slight increase compared to last year, reaching 6.2%, which is its lowest level ever.
As for the level of the European Union as a whole, the unemployment rate stabilized at 6.0%, compared to last month. The previous, which is slightly higher than last year, as it reached 5.8%, which was the lowest historical level.
Data indicate that 13.225 million people were unemployed in the European Union in November, including 10.937 million in the Eurozone.
The unemployment rate stabilized in France
As for France, it stabilized The unemployment rate is at 7.7%, and this level is still higher than the unemployment rate in its two largest neighbors, Germany, 3.8%, and Italy, 5.7%.
The lowest unemployment rate among European Union countries was recorded in Malta, at 3.1%, and the highest in Spain, at 10.4%.
The youth unemployment rate (under 25 years of age) also decreased slightly in the European Union, reaching 15.1%. (-0.1 percentage points), as well as in the euro area to 14.6% (-0.2 percentage points), according to Eurostat data.
