Trump orders Washington’s withdrawal from dozens of international treaties and organizations

US President Donald issued Trump ordered the withdrawal of the United States from a treaty and from a scientific reference committee in the field of Climate Change, along with dozens of other organizations, claiming that they do not serve American interests, in a new step that affects international cooperation in this field.
The White House announced that the executive order signed by the US President obligates the United States to withdraw from 66 organizations, almost half of which are affiliated with the United Nations.
Among these organizations is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is the basic treaty for all other international climate-related agreements that have been concluded. In 1992, at the Earth Summit in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
Reducing foreign aid
The list also includes the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Trump also decided to withdraw the United States again from UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), and he also withdrew from the World Health Organization.
The Republican president also approved a significant reduction in American foreign aid, reducing the budgets of many agencies. The United Nations, which forced it to reduce its field operations, such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the World Food Programme.
In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused the targeted organizations of promoting a “progressive ideology,” denouncing in particular “gender equality campaigns” and “the traditional approach to dealing with climate change.”
