Canada announces the killing of one of its citizens during protests in Iran

Declared Canada said on Thursday that one of its citizens was killed by authorities in Iran through The protests that began about 3 weeks ago.

She added: "The peaceful protests of the Iranian people, demanding that their voices be heard in the face of the Iranian regime’s repression and ongoing human rights violations, have led the regime to blatantly ignore human life."
Canada condemns the suppression of protests
A Canadian Foreign Ministry official explained to Agence France-Presse that Ottawa believes its citizen was killed by Iranian security forces during a protest.
The ministry said in a separate statement that consular officials are in contact with his family in Canada. The statement stated: "Canada strongly condemns the horrific killing of protesters in Iran"
He added: "Canadians in Iran should leave now if they can do so safely"
The number of Canadians in Iran is estimated at about 3,000.
