The opening of the first sand badminton court in the Middle East in Kalba
Sharjah, January 16 / WAM / The UAE Badminton Federation announced the opening of the first permanent outdoor sand badminton court in the Middle East, in a strategic partnership with the Kalba Sports and Cultural Club.
The stadium opening ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Rashid Saeed bin Farish Al Kindi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kalba Sports and Cultural Club, Ian Wright, Director of the Development Department at the International Badminton Federation, Salem Al Mazrouei, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Badminton Federation, and a number of club and federation officials.
The project is the first of its kind in the region, as it provides an innovative training environment for practicing badminton outdoors and on a permanent sandy surface, which contributes to diversifying training methods, raising the efficiency of players, and attracting new groups to practice the game, in line with the vision of the club and the federation in expanding the base of practitioners.
