Trump imposes new tariffs on European countries

US President Donald Trump said that 10% tariffs will be imposed on most European countries for opposing US control of Greenland.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced new customs duties of up to 25 percent on products imported from a group of European countries “until an agreement is reached to fully purchase Greenland.”
He indicated in a post on his Truth Social platform that, starting from February 1, the countries concerned will be subject to 10 percent customs duties on all products they export to the United States.
He said: “These countries, which are playing this very dangerous game, have adopted a level of risk that is unacceptable and unsustainable.” “By June 1, the tariffs will rise to 25 percent. They will remain payable until an agreement is reached to purchase all of Greenland,” he added.
