Davos, Switzerland, January 22 / WAM / The Technological Innovation Institute, the applied research arm of the Advanced Technology Research Council, in cooperation with the World Economic Forum, revealed the launch of the Abu Dhabi Center for Advanced Technology, to be a new center within the network of global centers affiliated with the Forum and concerned with the technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The signing took place in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Member of the World Economic Forum Leadership Council, Borg Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum “Davos”, and Larry Fink, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BlackRock, and Interim Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Economic Forum.

The center aims to lead qualitative achievements in the fields of advanced research and development, contribute to the formulation of global policies for emerging technology, and enhance international cooperation that transforms innovation from research ideas into solutions applied on the ground, based on the role of the UAE as a leading destination for testing innovations.

The UAE, in light of the country’s flexible regulatory framework and effective integration between research, decision-making and implementation, provides an exceptional platform for testing, disseminating and expanding the scope of emerging technology at the national level, an advantage that will be multiplied through the network of global Fourth Industrial Revolution centers affiliated with the World Economic Forum.

The new center also places Abu Dhabi at the forefront of the global scene for pioneering research in advanced technology, with a special focus on quantum computing, robotics, propulsion systems, space, and associated artificial intelligence applications. Through this strategic partnership, the Technology Innovation Institute joins an interconnected global innovation ecosystem, aiming to accelerate the responsible adoption of transformative technologies.

With the announcement of the new center, Abu Dhabi consolidates the UAE’s position within the network of global Fourth Industrial Revolution centers affiliated with the World Economic Forum, joining a distinguished network that includes centers in the United States, Germany, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Japan and India.
