The women’s race in the Ladder Cycling Championship begins in Dubai tomorrow

Dubai, 24 January / WAM / The Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai will organize, as part of the Ladder Cycling Championship, a women’s race tomorrow, in which an elite group of the strongest female competitors of various nationalities will participate, with a total prize money of 460,000 dirhams.

The Supreme Organizing Committee approved the route for the race to start in front of Al Qudra Village for endurance horse races and extend for a distance of 93 kilometers inside the Al Marmoum Reserve in the Saih Al Salam area in Dubai.

The route was chosen to pass through the most prominent natural and historical landmarks that characterize one of the largest desert reserves in the world and is full of rare plants and animals, and provides an ideal location for sports enthusiasts and tourists from inside and outside the UAE.

This is the third race within the activities of the tenth season of the Ladder Cycling Championship, which is held under the slogan “10 Years of Achievements and Success,” which began with the “Security and Safety” race designated for Emirati riders in cooperation with the Dubai Police General Headquarters, followed by the “His Highness the Ruler’s Court of Dubai” race, which began for the second year in a row from the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai all the way to the Al Marmoom Reserve, with the participation of an elite group of professional riders of various nationalities.

The current season will also witness the holding of the women’s desert race on January 31, and the men’s desert race on February 1.

His Excellency Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, Director General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, confirmed that the Ladder Championship, in implementation of the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, has always been keen to support and empower women as a priority in the races that are organized annually, in confirmation of its importance for the advancement of sports and society, due to the influential role women play in the family, and motivating rising generations to Practicing physical activity as a healthier, more active and happier lifestyle.

Al Falasi explained that the financial prizes offered are the largest in the world for this type of women’s bicycle race, with the aim of motivating participants to provide the highest and best levels, and in appreciation of the great efforts made by the riders and teams throughout the season to prepare for participation in the Ladder Cycling Championship, which has become an annual destination.

The Supreme Organizing Committee also announced the opening of participation in this race as part of the photography competition for the Ladder Cycling Championship, which is held in cooperation with the “Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award”, with the winners being announced and honored at the end of the season.

It is noteworthy that the tournament is being held in cooperation with a number of strategic partners, including Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Government Media Office, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, Dubai Sports Channel, Emirates Cycling Federation (general referee), and Dubai Film.
