America: Power was cut off from more than 700,000 homes due to a severe storm

Caused by Severe winter stormin the United States of America in Power outages affected hundreds of thousands of people, before their expected arrival in New York, Philadelphia and Washington later on Sunday.
The states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas are among the most affected states, with about 730,000 homes affected by power outages nationwide.
Worst winter storms
According to the authorities, nearly 190 million people – that is, more than Half the population of the United States – disturbances resulting from one of the worst winter storms the country has witnessed in several years.
The National Weather Service said: "The storm is expected to extend over a distance of approximately 3,000 km, from New Mexicoin the southwest to Maine in the northeast over the weekend"
State of Emergency
She added: "The storm is expected to hit New York City on Sunday, while many states have declared a state of emergency"
The harsh weather conditions caused chaos for travelers, with thousands of flights cancelled.
