Oil prices continue to rise, affected by production disruptions in major regions of America

Capitals, January 26 / WAM / Oil prices continued to rise today, Monday, by more than two percent from the previous session, amid production disruptions in major crude production areas in the United States. Brent crude futures rose seven cents, or 0.1 percent, to $65.95 a barrel by 1107 GMT. The price of US West Texas Intermediate crude increased three cents, or 0.1 percent, to $61.10

Per barrel. Both crude oils achieved weekly gains of 2.7 percent, recording at settlement on Friday their highest levels since January 14.

Crude oil production in the United States decreased by about 250,000 barrels per day due to bad weather conditions, including a decrease in production in the Bakken field.
