The University of Sharjah tops the country’s universities in 4 specializations according to the “Times” classification

Sharjah, January 26 / WAM / The University of Sharjah topped the country’s universities in four vital academic specializations, according to the “Times” classification of academic specializations for the year 2026, issued by the Times Higher Education Foundation, one of the most prominent and accurate international university classifications.

The results of the classification showed the continued strong presence of the University of Sharjah in the field of social sciences after it ranked first locally, and in the category (201-250) globally, achieving remarkable progress compared to previous years, in addition to maintaining its lead locally in the field of arts and humanities for the second year in a row, in the category (301-400) globally.

The university recorded a remarkable achievement in the field of law, by entering the classification for the first time, achieving first place locally, and in the category (176-200) globally, in an indicator that reflects the qualitative development in the academic and research programs at the College of Law, while it continued to lead locally in the field of physical sciences, in the category (201-250) globally.

In the field of medical and health sciences, the University of Sharjah ranked second locally, in the category (201-250) globally, achieving progress compared to last year, in addition to maintaining its global presence in the category (201-250) in the specializations of business administration and economics, and educational studies.

Dr. Essam Al-Din Ajami, Director of the University of Sharjah, confirmed that these results are the result of an ambitious strategic vision and an integrated academic approach, developed by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University, who attaches special importance to the University of Sharjah being a leading research university with a global scientific and societal impact.

He said that the university’s ranking in first place locally in specializations such as law, social sciences, humanities, and physical sciences, and its entry into the top 200 universities globally in some specializations, reflects its firm commitment to the quality of scientific research and the development of the academic environment, indicating that the university is moving forward in investing in scientific research, developing academic programs, and strengthening international partnerships, thus consolidating its position as a reference educational institution at the regional and international levels.
