"Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum" Launches the new round of its local and Gulf awards


Dubai, January 28 / WAM / The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences announced the launch of the new session of its local and Gulf awards, in addition to the Hamdan – ALECSO Awards and the International Center for the Gifted Awards.
The nomination and evaluation stages began this January, and include organizing introductory workshops on the nomination criteria and advisory sessions during the period from February to July, with next July 20 being set as the last date for submitting applications for the local and Gulf awards, next August 19 as the last date for applying for the Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Digital Innovations in Education, and next August 24 as the last date for applying for the International Center for the Gifted Awards. The course will complete its stages with arbitration in August, followed by interviews and field visits in September, leading to the announcement of the winners’ results next November.
Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Foundation, said: “We are pleased to launch the new cycle of the Foundation’s awards in light of our usual commitment to our clients and targets in accordance with the approved annual and periodic plans for the awards, as well as the Foundation’s keenness on the quality of its services in the context of its continuous endeavor to support excellence in education, encourage scientific research, and appreciate the qualitative efforts made by students, teachers, educators, and educational institutions, in addition to innovative initiatives and caring for the gifted.”
He added that the Foundation’s awards cycle for 2026 is distinguished by its focus on initiatives with measurable impact and sustainable quality. Through these awards, we are keen to stimulate outstanding performance and enhance the culture of quality and innovation, which contributes to developing education and building knowledge societies capable of keeping pace with global changes and achieving sustainable development.
He explained that the new session includes local educational awards, which aim to honor distinguished people in the United Arab Emirates, through the Distinguished Student Award, the Distinguished University Student Award, the Distinguished Teacher Award, and the Distinguished Educational Award, in addition to the local Distinguished School Award and the Education Supporting Institutions Award, in recognition of the qualitative contributions that contribute to developing the educational environment and improving the quality of education in accordance with established professional standards.
He said that the Gulf educational awards include the Distinguished Student Award, the Distinguished Teacher Award, the Distinguished Educator Award, and the Distinguished School Award, in confirmation of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting educational excellence in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, promoting the exchange of educational experiences, and honoring the leading educational models in the region.
As for the international awards in the new session, Dr. Al-Suwaidi explained that they include research and innovation awards, most notably the Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research and the Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Digital Innovations in Education, in cooperation with the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), with the aim of supporting qualitative educational research and encouraging innovative solutions that contribute to developing educational systems and improving educational practices. There are also awards for caring for the gifted, most notably the International Award for School Initiatives in Nurturing the Gifted and the International Award for Applied Research. In caring for the gifted, and implemented by the International Center for the Gifted.
