المملكة: Urgent – A new maritime agreement… Nationalizing sector jobs and opening higher academic paths for students


Signed King Abdulaziz University and the National Maritime Academy, a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at localizing the maritime transport industry and improving the security, safety and protection system The marine environment, by unifying academic and training efforts in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing national human capabilities.

The two sides were represented at the signing ceremony that took place at the university’s headquarters, by the Dean of the College of Marine Studies, Dr. Faisal Al-Saqq, while the Academy was represented by its Executive Director, Marine Captain Turki Al-Shehri, marking the start of a new phase of joint work.

The terms of the agreement topped the plans to study the launch of the academic “Bridging” program, which represents a shift Quality opens new horizons for diploma holders in marine specializations to complete their bachelor’s studies at King Abdulaziz University.

A comprehensive interactive environment

The two parties agreed to establish a comprehensive interactive environment that allows the exchange of accumulated technical and administrative experiences, and facilitates the access of faculty members, researchers and students to knowledge resources and the latest educational curricula on both sides.

The memorandum focuses on enhancing joint scientific research in precise and vital fields, including maritime safety and security, and marine environment management, to ensure the graduation of national cadres. Qualified according to the highest international standards.

The areas of cooperation also included organizing a package of specialized conferences, seminars and workshops at the local and international levels, to exchange visions about the latest practices and technologies in the maritime sector.

This partnership seeks to create sustainable cooperation links that serve the academic and professional system, and contribute directly to bridging the gap between educational outcomes and the needs of the growing maritime labor market in the Kingdom.
