The anti-Emirati rhetoric is nothing more than “noise.”

The diplomatic advisor to His Highness the President, Dr. Anwar Gargash, said that he does not believe that the region needs a new confrontation, in light of the rumors about the possibility of a US strike on Iran, noting that the Middle East has gone through a long series of disastrous confrontations.
He added during a session entitled “Resetting the Geopolitical Landscape” within the activities of the World Government Summit 2026: “I do not know what is going on in the mind of President Donald Trump, but I can convey the point of view of the region, and the point of view of the UAE, that we do not need a new crisis.”
Gargash stressed the importance of going to direct negotiations between the United States and Iran, leading to clear understandings, preventing these files from returning to the forefront every year or two, stressing that the Iranian nuclear file must be addressed directly so that it does not remain a source of permanent instability.
He explained that Iran today needs to reach an agreement, saying: “Iran has suffered geopolitically, and its economy needs to be rebuilt, and this will not be achieved without rebuilding its relationship with the United States… Reaching a political, and even a broader geopolitical, agreement will be beneficial to Iran and the entire region.”
Regarding the criticism directed at the UAE, Gargash said that much of the anti-Emirati rhetoric is nothing more than “noise” led by fake accounts on social media, calling for separating the noise from reality.
He added: “A large part of this discourse is due to the UAE’s economic success and its policies of diversity and openness. If we rise a step above the level of social media, we will find that this discourse fades away.”
He gave an example of what he described as organized electronic campaigns, explaining that the number of tweets insulting the UAE regarding Sudan reached about 45,000 tweets per day at one point, before it declined sharply as these accounts moved to other issues.
Gargash stressed that the UAE will continue its pioneering role in the region, through ambitious economic policies, enhancing economic and societal diversity, and building a wide network of relations in a world that has become multipolar, while striving to make it more cooperative through partnerships.
He pointed out that the UAE will continue to support peace efforts in the region, in addition to confronting extremism in all its forms.
Regarding international affairs, Gargash stressed the importance of managing major relations within the framework of “disciplined competition,” pointing out that issues such as nuclear weapons are still on the table and can be addressed through dialogue and agreements, as happened in the 1970s and 1980s.
He stressed that the Palestinian issue remains a pivotal and fundamental issue, and it cannot be resolved through confrontation, but rather through political paths.
Regarding the Gaza Strip, Gargash denied rumors that spoke of a special Emirati agenda, stressing that the UAE was one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid, as it provided about 45% of the total aid to Gaza during a difficult period that lasted two years.
He said: “We do not have a special agenda in Gaza. Rather, we work with the Palestinians, Egyptians, Israelis, and Jordanians, and we see that the American role is essential in moving the political track forward.”
He stressed that getting out of the repercussions of the war in Gaza requires collective action and international consensus.
