"Emirates Tourism" Reviews plans to promote tourist destinations and attractions in the country during 2026

Al Ain, February 3, 2017 – The Emirates Tourism Council held its first meeting for the year 2026 in the city of Al Ain, headed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, and with the membership of the heads and directors of all local tourism bodies in the country.
The Council discussed the positive results and outcomes achieved by the sixth edition of the “The Most Beautiful Winter in the World” campaign, and its pivotal role in supporting the growth of tourism revenues and enhancing the UAE’s attractiveness to visitors and tourists from all over the world, which contributes to consolidating its competitive position as a leading global tourist destination.
The Council also reviewed plans to promote destinations, attractions and products for tourism development departments and bodies in the country during the current year, including strategic objectives, promotional activities and executive programs to be implemented, in a way that supports the sustainability of the growth of the tourism sector and enhances its presence at the regional and international levels.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri stressed that the UAE attaches great importance to developing the tourism sector, as it is a main pillar for supporting the achievement of sustainable economic development, and a major driver in enhancing the growth of the gross domestic product of the national economy, as the country has succeeded in establishing an integrated and pioneering tourism experience, which is considered among the best in the world, thanks to the diversity of its tourism products, the quality of its infrastructure, and the exceptional experiences it provides that meet the aspirations of various categories of visitors.
He said that the Council’s meeting today focused on setting priorities for joint work with the relevant tourism authorities during the next stage, and enhancing integration between the seven emirates in tourism promotion of tourism products and destinations, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of national efforts to develop the tourism sector, supports the consolidation of the national tourism identity, and presents the UAE as a unified and diverse tourism destination that combines cultural, beach, and natural tourism, business tourism, medical tourism, and other tourism types.
His Excellency added that exchanging plans and visions between local tourism entities provides broader opportunities for coordination and supports marketing efforts for promotional campaigns. It also contributes to identifying areas of cooperation in priority tourism markets, whether through implementing unified national campaigns or through joint participation in the most prominent international exhibitions, pointing to the importance of developing partnerships with national airlines, global booking platforms, and private sector partners, in a way that supports increasing tourist flows and enhancing the country’s competitiveness on the global stage.
In detail, the meeting discussed the importance of relying on accurate data and information in the process of identifying priority tourism markets, by taking advantage of analyzes of travel trends and demand indicators to direct investments and marketing resources more effectively.
This step also contributes to focusing on the markets that enjoy the highest feasibility in terms of demand volume, growth rates, and average tourism spending, especially the markets with high potential, including the Gulf, European and Asian markets, while strengthening the UAE presence in emerging tourism markets with rapid growth, thus enhancing the country’s ability to achieve tangible results in developing the tourism sector and increasing the economic return from it.
The Council discussed a set of proposed tourism activities, which include expanding participation in the most prominent international tourism exhibitions and events, organizing expanded introductory visit programs “Fam Trips” in cooperation with national airline companies, in addition to implementing integrated marketing campaigns through digital channels and traditional media, with the aim of enhancing the promotion of UAE tourist destinations and increasing their attractiveness at the regional and international levels.
In light of this, the participants in the meeting stressed that the current stage requires strengthening work within an integrated national framework to promote the Emirati tourism identity, and to highlight the integration of tourism experiences between the various seven emirates, which contributes to increasing the average length of stay and motivating visitors to explore more than one emirate during their visit to the country, and in a way that supports the consolidation of the UAE’s position as a global tourist destination that combines quality, diversity and innovation.
