The Head of State and the President of Paraguay discuss cooperation relations

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, who is on a working visit to the country during which he will participate in the World Government Summit 2026.
During the meeting, which took place at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness and the President of Paraguay discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries and the ongoing development they are witnessing in various sectors, especially economic, trade, development and other priority development areas, stressing their keenness to invest in the opportunities available between the two countries to open new horizons for joint cooperation in a way that supports their interests and brings progress and prosperity to their peoples.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, stressing the importance of consolidating international peace and stability by supporting efforts to resolve differences and conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic means in the interest of everyone.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and a number of ministers, senior officials and the delegation accompanying the guest.
During the meeting, His Highness the President of the State and the President of Paraguay also witnessed the following exchange ceremony: a memorandum of understanding in the field of energy and infrastructure, which was exchanged by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, with the Minister of Industry and Trade of Paraguay, Javier Jiménez, in addition to a memorandum of understanding between Abu Dhabi Airports and the National Directorate of Civil Aviation in Paraguay regarding the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport development project, which was exchanged by the Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, Ahmed Al Shamsi, The Executive Secretary of the Presidential Unit in Paraguay, Mariana Saldívar, and the agreement on the basic principles of the urban train project, were exchanged by the CEO of the Union of Railways, Shadi Malak, and the Minister of Industry and Trade of Paraguay, Javier Jiménez.
