Launching of the Dubai Stem Cell Conference

Dubai, 7 February / WAM / The activities of the Fourth Dubai Stem Cell Conference kicked off today in Dubai, with the participation of more than 500 doctors and specialists, including 26 leading scientists, medical professionals and industry experts in the field of stem cells from various countries of the world, at the Movenpick Grand Al Bustan Hotel, and will last for two days.
The conference – organized by the First Stem Cell and Genomics Laboratory (FSG) with support from the Dubai Health Authority – highlights the latest developments in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Fatima Al Hashemi, President of the Conference and Executive Director of the First Stem Cell and Genome Laboratory, said in her opening speech that this year the conference brings together 26 speakers from the United States, Japan, Sweden, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Qatar and the UAE, allowing for a broad exchange of ideas and innovations.
Al-Hashemi pointed out that the conference sessions focus on the latest research in stem cell therapy and modern treatments in regenerative medicine and their impact on developing treatment techniques, anticipating that this type of treatment will become an effective option in the coming years for treating many incurable diseases.
She pointed out that the conference represents a global platform that brings together researchers and sector leaders to exchange knowledge, enhance cooperation, and accelerate innovation, which contributes to strengthening the position of Dubai and the Middle East at the forefront of global biomedical progress.
The conference includes 6 specialized workshops on the latest research and developments in the field of stem cells, in addition to an awareness session on the latest technologies and successful clinical trials.
It also witnessed the signing of two strategic memorandums of understanding, the first between the First Stem Cell and Genomics Laboratory and the Center for Molecular Biology and Genomics (MBG) to enhance operational cooperation and advanced services, and the second with TCURX to support joint initiatives in stem cell research and the development of therapeutic innovation.
Conference participants will receive 14 credit hours of continuing medical education accredited by the Dubai Health Authority.
