The UAE national team wins 4 medals at the opening of the Asian Paralympic Cycling Championship

Qassim, February 13 / WAM / The UAE Cycling Team for People of Determination began its participation in the Asian Paralympic Cycling Championship (road), held in the Saudi city of Qassim during the period from 10 to 14 February, by achieving 4 medals in the first day’s competitions.

Abdullah Salem Al Balushi won gold in the (MC4) category, while Salama Rashid Al Khatri won gold in the (WC5) category, giving the team two gold medals in a strong start.

Saeed Rashid Al Dhaheri also won a silver in the (MH4) category, and Ahmed Mohammed Al-Badwawi added a bronze in the (MC5) category, confirming the team’s early presence in the medal table.

These results reflect the increase in the technical level of the team’s players, the result of the intense preparations that preceded the tournament as part of the plan to prepare for the upcoming continental and international competitions.

Coach Mohamed Al Marawi confirmed that the strong start represents an extension of the recent series of achievements, noting that the performance reflects the team spirit and high discipline of the players.

He said: “The distinguished start came as a result of continuous work and great efforts from the technical and administrative staff, pointing out that the achievement achieved in the recent West Asian Championship constituted an impetus for continued development, with a focus on achieving more honorable results in the tournament.”
