400 kilograms of uranium
When the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister was asked about the possibility of Tehran agreeing to ship its stockpile of more than 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium outside the country, the Iranian official did not close the door to reaching an understanding, declaring that "It is too early to say what will happen during the negotiations"
Several countries, including Russia, have offered to receive Iran’s stock, which has so far opposed this proposal.
Great uncertainty hangs over the fate of more than 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium that Iran possesses, which was last seen during an inspection conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency on June 10, before the Israeli and American strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
At that time, Iran was enriching uranium by 60%, according to the IAEA. Atomic energy, which far exceeds the limit of 3.67% contained in the 2015 nuclear agreement, which has expired.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on Tehran to completely abandon enrichment.
But Majid Takht Ravanchi stressed that "The issue of zero enrichment is no longer relevant, and for Iran it is no longer on the agenda".
