47.9 thousand electric vehicles in Dubai, a growth of 27.9% during 2025

The number of electric vehicles in Dubai increased to 47,944 vehicles by the end of 2025, compared to 37,486 vehicles by the end of 2024, a growth of 27.9%, indicating an acceleration in the adoption of sustainable means of transportation in the emirate.

This growth reflects the impact of the “Green Charger” initiative launched by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, which aims to provide advanced infrastructure for charging electric vehicles and encourage customers to switch to environmentally friendly transportation solutions, according to what the authority stated through its account on the “X” platform.

The initiative contributes to supporting Dubai’s goals in reducing the carbon footprint and enhancing energy efficiency, in addition to consolidating the emirate’s position as a leading global center in the fields of sustainability and clean energy.

The expansion of the use of electric vehicles is also supported by growing environmental awareness and the availability of an integrated and easy-to-use charging network in various areas of Dubai, which provides a more efficient and sustainable transportation experience for electric vehicle users.
