The inflation rate in Britain has fallen to its lowest level since last March

Official data showed that the inflation rate fell to its lowest level since March last year in light of the decline in oil prices and the slowdown in price increases for food products.
The British news agency (PA Media) reported that the consumer price inflation rate fell to 3% last January, compared to 3.4% last December, as announced by the National Statistics Office.
The data showed that automobile fuel particularly contributed to the decline in the inflation rate, as the price of gasoline fell by 3.1 pence (4.2 US cents) per liter between December 2025 and January 2026.
The statistics office said that the rate of inflation in prices of food products and non-alcoholic beverages declined from 4.5% last December to 3.6% last month.
