Car sales in China saw a significant rise in March
BEIJING, 11 APRIL/WAM/ Industry data in China showed yesterday, Friday, that car production and sales increased significantly last March compared to the previous month.
Total automobile production reached 2.92 million units in March and sales reached 2.9 million units, representing an increase of 74.4% and 60.6% respectively compared to the previous month, according to the China Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.23 million units and 1.25 million units, respectively.
The volume of car production in China in the first quarter of this year reached 7.04 million units, while sales reached 7.05 million units, according to the association.
During the same period, production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 2.97 million units and 2.96 million units, respectively.
Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of the association, said that the impact of policies such as large-scale equipment renewal and replacement of old consumer goods with new ones will continue to be achieved, while the Beijing Auto Show will witness a wave of new model launches, which will help maintain market momentum and boost automobile consumption.
