"Dewa" It is considering strengthening cooperation with India in the fields of clean energy and water

Dubai, February 19, 2017 (WAM) – His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), stressed the authority’s keenness to consolidate its relations with diplomatic missions and enhance cooperation with Indian companies operating in the energy and water sectors.
This came during his meeting with His Excellency Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the UAE, and His Excellency Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of the Republic of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
During the meeting, His Excellency Al Tayer reviewed the Authority’s most prominent projects and initiatives, especially those that support the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050, which aim to provide 100% of Dubai’s energy production capacity from clean sources by the year 2050.
His Excellency highlighted the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest solar energy park in one location in the world, and the opportunities it provides within the independent energy producer model, pointing to the green hydrogen project and digital transformation and smart grid initiatives.
For their part, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of India and His Excellency the Consul General expressed their appreciation for the Authority’s initiatives and the supportive environment that Dubai provides for Indian companies operating in the emirate.
