New Delhi, February 21 / WAM / The Artificial Intelligence Summit in India, at the conclusion of its work, called for the establishment of a “safe, robust and reliable” artificial intelligence system, stressing in its final statement signed by 86 countries and two international organizations that this approach represents an essential foundation for building confidence and providing the greatest amount of social and economic benefits.
The participants acknowledged that artificial intelligence constitutes a turning point comparable to the industrial revolution, which requires the establishment of new forms of international cooperation that include governments, industry, academia and civil society, stressing that the capabilities of this technology are not fully realized except when all of humanity shares in its benefits.
The summit was held over a period of five days under the slogan “Prosperity for All, Happiness for All,” in the presence of heads of state, international organizations, and leaders of major specialized companies.
The discussions included three main themes: people, planet, and progress, and seven working groups emerged from them to exchange practical proposals on human capital, inclusion for social liberation, security and reliability, flexibility, innovation and efficiency, science, making resources available to all, economic growth and social good.
Participants also learned about the impact of advanced technology on various professions and sectors, the new skills required in the labor market, as well as the opportunities available for emerging and small companies.
The summit, which was hosted by the capital, New Delhi, from February 16 to 20, witnessed active Emirati participation, as His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, headed the country’s delegation on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him.”
The country’s participation comes as an extension of its pivotal role and efforts to support international cooperation in advanced technology, especially with the announcement of its hosting of the upcoming Artificial Intelligence Summit in 2028, which follows the Swiss Confederation’s hosting of the summit in cooperation with the UAE in Geneva in 2027.
Hosting confirms the country’s leadership and position as a global center for creating the future of technology and a station for formulating responsible international policies, which contributes to building strategic partnerships that accelerate the adoption of the innovation system and employ artificial intelligence solutions to advance sustainable development in vital sectors.
