Abu Dhabi Sports: The Emirates Tour embodies the country’s leadership in organizing international events
ABU DHABI, 22nd February, 2017 (WAM) – The Abu Dhabi Sports Council confirmed that the remarkable organizational success achieved by the eighth edition of the UAE Tour reflects the leadership position of the UAE in hosting and organizing major international sporting events.
In his statement today after the conclusion of the 2026 edition of the Tour, His Excellency Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Council, congratulated the wise leadership on this occasion, praising the distinguished level demonstrated by the event in terms of preparation and organization, and the high professionalism it characterized, which confirmed the state’s ability to organize international championships according to the best standards.
He praised the sporting achievement achieved by the UAE team by winning the title of the eighth edition of the Tour, adding it to the record of UAE sports, congratulating the team management, the technical and administrative staff and the riders, led by the champion del Toro.
He stressed that this coronation strengthens the team’s position on the map of professional cycling worldwide, and confirms the continuation of the process of excellence and success.
He extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the organizational success of the UAE Tour, including sponsors, partners, volunteers, and media professionals, in addition to the work team that provided great efforts and demonstrated a high professional spirit, which had an impact in directing the event in an honorable manner worthy of the name and status of the UAE on the international scene.
He pointed out that this success represents an incentive to continue developing sporting events and enhancing the country’s presence on the global sports scene.
