Ras Al Khaimah Economy launches an initiative "Ramadan and the consumer"

Ras Al Khaimah, February 24 / WAM / The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah launched the “Ramadan and the Consumer” initiative, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness of consumer protection laws.
Faisal Abdullah Alyoun, Director of the Department of Commercial Control and Protection at the Department, said that the “Ramadan and the Consumer” initiative comes from the Department’s keenness to intensify awareness efforts during the holy month of Ramadan, which witnesses increasing commercial activity, as we work to enhance the culture of conscious consumption, and ensure that establishments adhere to the laws and regulations, in order to achieve a balance between the rights of the consumer and the merchant, and establish a safe and fair commercial environment in the emirate.
He explained that the initiative enjoys the support of a number of sponsors and partners within the framework of a community partnership that reflects the integration of roles between government agencies and the private sector.
Through this initiative, the department confirms its commitment to continuing its oversight and awareness efforts, enhancing consumer confidence, and supporting the stability and growth of markets in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
