Araqchi: We have a historic opportunity to reach an unprecedented agreement with Washington

He said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi Tuesday before a new round of negotiations with Washington On Thursday, there is a historic opportunity to reach an unprecedented agreement between the two sides.
Araqchi wrote on the X platform: "We have a historic opportunity to reach an unprecedented agreement that dispels common fears and meets common interests. The agreement is within our reach if diplomacy is given priority.".
He stressed that Tehran is preparing for the next round "With determination to achieve a fair and equitable agreement, as soon as possible".
Thursday’s round of negotiations
Tehran and Washington are scheduled to hold a round of negotiations on Thursday in Geneva, which will be the third since the resumption of the talks this month.
The talks will be held against the backdrop of a heavy US military deployment in the region and with US President Donald Trump threatening to launch a strike if he does not reach an agreement.
Tehran has previously repeatedly stressed that it will respond firmly to any attack, and the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that any strike, even if it Limited, it would be considered an act of aggression.

He continued: "We have proven that we will spare no effort to preserve our sovereignty, we will show the same courage at the negotiating table, and we will strive to achieve a peaceful solution to any conflict."
Iran has always denied seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon, but it affirms its right to develop a civilian nuclear program, especially in the field of energy, under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, of which it is a signatory.
