India: 9 dead and 24 seriously injured in an explosion at a power plant


An explosion occurred at Power station in the center of India, killing at least nine people and wounding 15 others on Tuesday, according to what local authorities reported.

The explosion occurred in the state of Chhattisgarh at a station belonging to a company. "VEDANTA LIMITED" It is a subsidiary of the company "Vedanta Resources" Listed on the London Stock Exchange, according to what was reported by the state’s Minister of Industry, Lakhan Lal Dewangan.

The minister explained that 24 workers were seriously injured as a result of a boiler explosion at the station located in Sakti district, confirming that 9 of them were killed.

The state’s Prime Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, announced that an investigation would be conducted, and the strongest possible measures would be taken against all those responsible.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the explosion that occurred in Chattisgarh that "tragic"offering his condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the accident.
