Gold rises 1% and silver rises to the highest level in three weeks

Capitals, February 25 / WAM / Gold prices rose by about 1% today, Wednesday, as investors headed towards safe havens during Asian trading.

By 07:46 GMT, gold in spot transactions recorded $5,186.16 per ounce, while US gold futures contracts for April delivery rose by 0.6% to $5,205.

As for other precious metals, spot silver rose 3.4% to $90.32 per ounce, the highest level in history.

Three weeks later, platinum also rose 4.7% to $2,269.82 an ounce, and palladium rose 1.9% to $1,801.47 an ounce.
