"Islamic affairs, endowments and zakat" Organizes a forum "Al Ain minarets"

Abu Dhabi, 8 March / WAM / The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, as part of its Ramadan program activities, organized the “Al Ain Minarets” Forum under the slogan “Our Mosques… The Memory of a Community, the Identity of a Homeland” at the Hamdan Bin Zayed First Mosque in the Al Ain region, in the presence of the guests of His Highness the President of the State, “may God protect him,” Authority officials, invitees, and an audience of people from the region.

The Authority indicated that this forum highlights the pivotal role of mosques in shaping religious and social awareness, by bringing to mind the mosques of the heritage city of Al Ain, most notably the “Al Natla” Mosque, documenting their historical and heritage dimension as urban landmarks and the memory of a community, highlighting the religious and cultural status of the mosque and its comprehensive functions in building faith and preserving values, reading the architectural and engineering development of mosques in the United Arab Emirates, and introducing images of institutional care. Mosques in the country in terms of governance, maintenance and development, in addition to enhancing the protection of heritage mosques, restoring them and activating them culturally and cognitively in partnership with the concerned authorities.

It stressed its keenness to preserve the religious and urban heritage of mosques, and to enhance their role in building humanity and consolidating values, in line with the UAE’s vision of preserving national identity, preserving cultural heritage, and consolidating the concept of sustainability in mosque architecture and service.
