Great competition at auction "The noblest number" Dubai Charity and officials praise the volume of participation

Dubai, 8 March / WAM / The “Noble Number” charity auction in Dubai witnessed strong competition and a wide demand for the distinctive numbers as part of efforts to support humanitarian work, as the proceeds from the auction are allocated to support the “End of Life” campaign, which aims to save 5 million children from starvation.

His Excellency Abdullah Matar Al Mannai, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Emirates Auctions, confirmed that the success achieved by the “Noble Numbers” charity auction in Dubai, in terms of organization and the number of participants in its activities, and making it known and its objectives on the broadest scale, is the result of the extensive experience that Emirates Auctions possesses in organizing world-class charitable auctions, and as a result of the integration of efforts between the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation and the “Emirates Auctions” Company, noting that The importance of the support provided by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, E&Emirates, and Du, through the allocation of distinctive numbers, in an extension of their positive role that they have established over the past years.

His Excellency said: “Our participation in organizing the (Noble No.) charity auction in Dubai, in support of the (Have a Life) campaign to save 5 million children from starvation, comes in the context of our strategic partnership with various previous Ramadan campaigns, which fall under the umbrella of the (Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives) Foundation, based on our commitment to supporting national and humanitarian initiatives and promoting a culture of social responsibility, indicating the keenness of Emirates Auctions to provide the conditions for success for all… A charity auction, and its commitment to provide its capabilities and expertise to achieve the goals of humanitarian initiatives in the UAE.

For his part, Omar Matar Al Mannai, Executive Director of Emirates Auctions, speaking to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the auction organized in Dubai, said that the sixth auction, in partnership with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and in cooperation with a number of government agencies, including the Roads and Transport Authority, Etisalat, and Du, witnessed a remarkable attendance and wide participation from various nationalities.

He added that the auction was a great success, as the special number 6 was sold for 37 million dirhams, exceeding the price of last year’s highest number, “DD5,” which was sold for about 35 million dirhams. He pointed out that the rest of the numbers were also sold at higher prices compared to previous years, in light of the continued increase in the value of contributions year after year.

Regarding companies, Al-Mannai explained that the campaign succeeded in collecting more than one billion dirhams in donations with the participation of international and charitable institutions, thanking all the supporting bodies and participants who contributed to the success of the auction and support of humanitarian work.

Ibrahim Al Balushi, Director of the Sustainability and Partnerships Department at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, told WAM that the “Noble Number” auction, which is organized by the Foundation in cooperation with the Emirates Auction Company and a number of partners, including the Roads and Transport Authority, the “E&” Group, and the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company “du”, allocates its proceeds to support the “Limit to Life” campaign, to contribute to saving the lives of about five million children who are threatened with starvation around the world.

He explained that malnutrition threatens the lives of children in less fortunate communities, as five children face the risk of dying from hunger every minute.

Al Balushi added that after the end of the auction and the holy month of Ramadan, the campaign will move to the field work phase, through cooperation with international institutions and organizations in about 15 countries during the first phase with the aim of delivering support.
