During the plenary session of the conference today, he delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of responsible artificial intelligence in shaping a more comprehensive, productive and sustainable future of work, and he highlighted the Kingdom’s declaration of 2026 as the year of artificial intelligence, which reflects its commitment to harnessing advanced technologies to serve humanity, development and quality of life, and to support a more sustainable and comprehensive future.

Employing artificial intelligence

In his speech, he also welcomed the report of the Director-General of the organization. International work entitled "A critical stage: employing artificial intelligence to achieve decent work"Pointing out that artificial intelligence offers great opportunities to improve productivity and labor market efficiency, while at the same time it poses challenges that require balanced and responsible policies.

Al Rajhi said: "The future of work in the era of artificial intelligence will not be determined by technology alone, but will be determined by the ability to invest in people, develop skills, enhance protection, and ensure that technical transformation creates quality and sustainable jobs."

Saudi Skills Classification

In his speech, he touched on the National Skills Platform, which employs artificial intelligence to support skills records, learning paths, and skills assessment, in addition to developing the Saudi classification of skills and professions to keep pace with labor market transformations.

He pointed to the Kingdom’s use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance compliance and protect workers’ rights, including digital tools and predictive analytics that contribute to identifying risks, raising the efficiency of inspection, and monitoring practices. The violation is in the early stages, and recent initiatives include continuing to implement the labor market strategy, the wage protection program, and the Qiwa platform, which has employed generative artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence agents to serve more than two million establishments and 12 million workers in the private sector across the Kingdom.

Labor Markets

This year’s session of the International Labor Conference comes at a time when labor markets around the world are facing rapid technical changes and varying impacts between countries, sectors, and workers. Al-Rajhi stressed that international cooperation represents an essential element to ensure the use of Artificial intelligence in a responsible and fair manner, and expanding the scope of its benefits.
