Requests to approve Sharjah electricity, water and gas plans increased to 17,873, or 14.31%.

Sharjah, 9 March / WAM / The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority received 17,873 applications to approve electricity, water and natural gas plans for commercial, residential, industrial, governmental and agricultural buildings in Sharjah during the year 2025, compared to 15,634 applications received during the year 2024, an increase of 14.31%.

Engineer Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni, Director of the Shared Services Department, explained that the Authority continues to develop and modernize the services provided to customers in cooperation with strategic partners. This comes in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, regarding the necessity of providing the best services to the emirate’s residents, both citizens and residents, and taking all measures to save time and effort and to facilitate them in order to keep pace with the requirements of the emirate’s development process and achieve the satisfaction of customers with the Authority by using technology and smart applications to improve and develop services.

He pointed out that the number of requests to approve plans that were received during the year 2025 included receiving 6,486 requests to approve electricity plans, 4,283 requests to approve water plans, the total number of requests to approve gas plans reached 6,833 requests, and 271 requests to approve plans for large projects.

He stressed that the number of requests for approval of plans and permanent connection of electricity, water and natural gas services is constantly increasing as a result of the expansions and development projects witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah in all regions. This increase gives positive indicators of the economic, social and cultural development witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah, indicating that the Authority is continuing to implement projects and expansions in the electricity, water and natural gas networks to meet the needs and requirements of all regions.

He added that the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority’s Shared Services Department receives all transactions through the smart platform and works on continuous coordination with representatives of consulting offices, contractors and investors to study and update technical requirements, facilitate procedures for electricity and water requests, and activate the strategic partnership to develop procedures and complete transactions and quickly complete the audit and approval of plans accurately and efficiently, saving time and effort for customers.
