Knight Al Owais takes the lead "Differentiation" In the show jumping competitions at Boudheib Equestrian Academy

ABU DHABI, April 6, 2018 (WAM) – Equestrian Mohammed Ahmed Al Owais topped the competition over the 145 cm hurdles, which was held yesterday on the field of the Sultan Bin Zayed Grand Hall at the Boudheib Equestrian Academy.

The events took place over the course of Saturday and Sunday, as part of the 14th edition of the Emirates Longines Show Jumping League, under the supervision of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, sponsored by Longines, and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and witnessed 14 competitions, with the participation of 200 male and female riders.

The winners were crowned by Abdullah Al-Naqbi, Director of the Support Services Department at the Equestrian Federation, Mohammed Hatem Al-Junaibi, Director of Events at the Academy, and Ahmed Ali Al-Junaibi, Head of the Training Department.

Al Owais shined with “Fara du Paviour” and finished the distinction alone without error, achieving 37.17 seconds. The jockey Humaid Abdullah Al Muhairi came second with “Mintos” from Al Sheraa Stables, with a time of distinction of 35.95 seconds, and third was the jockey Muftah Jawhar Al Dhaheri with “Sira PS” from the Abu Dhabi Police Knights, recording 39.51 seconds in the distinction round.

Jockey Osama Al-Zubaibi and the horse “First Queen” from Al-Forsan Sports Resort won the title of the first level competition with the specifications of the two special stages, on the 140 cm hurdles, while the jockey Hamad Al-Naimi with “Delphin” from the Sharjah Equestrian Club achieved first place in the youth category, on the 130 cm hurdles in two special stages, and his fellow jockey Abdullah Hamad Al-Karbi won with “Quintano” in the one-round competition for the youth category on the 130 cm hurdles as well.

The jockey Yassin Al-Zubaibi with “Narwin SMH” from Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club also won the main round with the 130 cm hurdles, while the jockey Saleh Mufarrej Al Karbi with “Chantal” from the Sharjah Equestrian Club won the title of the “Juniors” competition over the 120 cm hurdles, in two stages, and the jockey Mabkhout Awaidah Al Karbi, with the horse “Dubai” from Al Sheraa Stables, won the title of the second competition of One round at the same height.

The rider, Hisham Gharib, with “Olympic Boy” from the Romano Equestrian Club, dominated the two special stages competition for the first level riders over the 120 cm hurdles as well, while the second competition for the second level riders was won by the rider, Saliha Al Ketbi, with “Elton” from the Al Forsan Sports Resort.

Two special stage competitions were held over the 120 cm hurdles for young horses aged 6 years, and a round over the 125 cm hurdles, in addition to two competitions for horses aged 7 years with the same specifications but over the 125 cm and 130 cm hurdles. In the first, “Onora J” won, led by the jockey Mohammed Hamad Al Karbi from the Sharjah Equestrian Club, and “Billy Morzine” came second, led by the jockey Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzouqi, from the stables. Al-Shira, and jumped with her to the lead position in the second day’s competition of one round over the 130 cm hurdles.
