Explosions rock Iran…and Israel announces a new wave of raids

Iranian media reported explosions in various parts of the country, early Tuesday morning, while the Israeli army announced the end of a new wave of attacks on Iran.

The explosions included several cities in Tehran Province, including Shahriyan, Islamshahr, Vavan, Pardis, Hassanabad, and Rodhin, in which electricity was cut off.

Explosions were also detected at a dock belonging to the Revolutionary Guards in the port of Jask on the Gulf of Oman in Hormozgan Province, southeastern Iran, and in the Gohardasht region of the city of Karaj, and the cities of Qazvin and Jahram in Fars Province.

Iranian media also confirmed hearing successive explosions in Damavand, Mazandaran Province.

Later, the Israeli army announced that it had ended a wave of air strikes on Iran, with the aim of “causing damage to the Iranian regime’s infrastructure, in Tehran and other areas.”

On the other hand, the Israeli army stated that it had detected missiles launched from Iran towards Israel.

The army said that defense systems were working to intercept it.

According to Israeli media, there is a wide state of alert in southern Israel due to an Iranian missile attack, while sirens were sounded in 29 locations in the Negev and other locations.

These developments come 24 hours before a deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Iran to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of global energy production passes, otherwise its bridges and power stations will be destroyed.

The US President calls on Iran to abandon the nuclear program and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and said: “The entire country may be eliminated in one night, and that may be tomorrow night (Tuesday). I hope I do not have to do that.”
