The conclusion of the Vice President’s Athletics Cup competitions

Khor Fakkan, April 7 / WAM / The Vice President’s Athletics Cup competitions were concluded, at the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled, with wide participation from the country’s clubs, and amid a great competitive atmosphere.
Al-Nasr Club topped the youth category with 9 medals, including 5 gold and 4 silver, while Sharjah Women’s Sports Club won the young women’s title, scoring 13 medals, 11 gold and two silver, and the girls’ cubs title, achieving 24 medals, including 12 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze.
The Abu Dhabi Athletics Club won the competition in the boys’ cubs category, winning first place, with 13 medals, 6 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze, after a strong competition with the other teams participating in the tournament.
Ali Ghazwan, Chairman of the Players and Club Affairs Committee, confirmed that the tournament witnessed distinguished technical levels in the speed, endurance, hurdles, jumping, and throwing competitions, which reflects the broadening of the practice base and the growing quality of technical work in the clubs, especially as it is important in terms of its qualitative value within one of the main stations in the local athletics calendar, and its impact on discovering national talents, and raising the readiness of male and female players for upcoming competitions with the national teams at the regional and international levels.
