Remarkable growth in the Saudi date industry and commercial records jump 53% in 3 months
The sector of drying and packing dates and manufacturing their products achieved remarkable growth in Saudi Arabia during the first quarter of 2026, as the number of Business Sector Bulletin for the first quarter of 2026, issued by the Ministry of Commerce. The Riyadh region acquired the largest share of commercial records for the date industry with 2,270 records, followed by the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region with 1,087 records, then Al-Sharqiyah with 433 records, Medina with 376 records, and Al-Qassim with 346 records.
This comes at a time when Date exports Saudi Arabia made a strategic breakthrough into the German and global markets through major retail chains, recording revenues amounting to 1.7 billion riyals, as part of a national initiative aimed at strengthening the economy and raising the volume of exports in line with Vision 2030.
The National Center for Palms and Dates explained that the initiative “Empowering Saudi date exports and their entry into global markets” succeeded in listing 10 national companies within more than 1,500 commercial branches, indicating that these branches are affiliated with 15 major retail markets, whose geographical area expands to include more than 14 countries around the world.
