Integrating sectors to enhance job opportunities

Al-Harbi explained that the pivotal goal of the forum, which is being hosted by the “Super Dome” until April 8, is to bridge the skills gap to create opportunities that match the aspirations of graduates.

He indicated that the current version witnesses A qualitative shift through the participation of 90 companies, and the significant presence of the Ministries of “Industry and Mineral Resources” and “Communications and Information Technology”, to enhance integration between government and private agencies.

The supervisor of the forum pointed out that the job opportunities offered cover a wide spectrum of specializations, including scientific, engineering, administrative, and financial fields, in addition to the medical and educational sectors, to reflect the actual needs of the market.

He touched on the size of Demand, indicating that the accompanying electronic platform recorded more than 40,560 registrants, while attendance on the first day exceeded the ceiling of six thousand visitors during its morning session only.

Al-Harbi added that the university developed a digital experience that allows beneficiaries to upload their CVs, and extract a custom “barcode” that enables them to apply directly to schedule personal interviews with the participating companies.

The “direct admission” system

In a related context, he confirmed the university’s transition to the “direct admission” system in colleges and the cancellation of the preparatory year, with the activation of early supervision that directs students towards specializations compatible with their abilities and inclinations.

He stated that this precise approach contributes to raising the efficiency of choosing a specialization, relying directly on academic performance indicators during the first year to determine the correct destination for the student.

He pointed out that the university continues to study labor market trends to develop its programs, citing the excellence of the Colleges of Marine Studies and Health Sciences in meeting emerging needs. And economic transformations.

Launching new colleges and programs

Al-Harbi revealed a strategic direction to launch new colleges and programs in the coming years, led by a college specializing in “mining,” to support rapidly growing strategic sectors such as transportation and logistics services.

He stressed that the continuous change in future jobs requires high flexibility in designing academic programs, to ensure graduates’ readiness to compete locally and globally.

He concluded his statement to “Al-Youm” by valuing the continued support of the university’s president, Dr. Tarif Al-Aama, and his deputy for educational affairs, Dr. Muhammad. Kabli, for the success of this integrative gathering and the empowerment of national competencies.

He also praised the efforts of the deanships of admission and registration, graduate studies, and the University Education Development Center, for their pivotal role in organizing guidance meetings and raising students’ awareness of the requirements of national development.
