The industrial production index in Saudi Arabia increased by 8.9% during February 2026


The industrial production index index in Saudi Arabia rose by 8.9% during February 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year, supported by an increase in mining and quarrying activity, manufacturing activity, water supply activity, sanitation activities, and waste management and treatment, while the index recorded a monthly decrease of 0.2%.

Mining and quarrying

According to data from the General Authority for Statistics, the sub-index index rose. For Miningand quarrying during the month of February increased by 13% on an annual basis, as a result of the increase in the level of oil production in the Kingdom during that month to reach 10.1 million barrels per day, compared to 8.9 million barrels per day in February of the previous year.
On a monthly basis, the index of the sub-index for mining and quarrying activity recorded an increase of 0.1%.

Manufacturing industries

The number index rose by 0.1%. The The manufacturing industry increased by 3.6% on an annual basis, supported by an increase in the activity of manufacturing coke and refined petroleum products, which rose by 5.2%, and the activity of manufacturing chemicals and chemical products, which rose by 4.5%.

With regard to the monthly performance of the sub-index of manufacturing activity, the preliminary results indicate a decrease in the performance of the index by 0.2%, affected by a decrease in the activity of making coke and refined petroleum products, which decreased by Water supply, sanitation and waste management and treatment activities increased by 8.1%, compared to February of the previous year.

When compared to January 2026, it is noted that the sub-index for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply activity decreased by 3.9%, and the sub-index for water supply and sanitation activity and waste management and treatment activities decreased by 4.1%.

Industrial production by economic activities

The oil activities index index increased in February by 11.5% compared to the same month of the previous year, and the non-oil activities index rose by 2.4%, while the results indicate a decrease in the oil activities index index by 0.1%, and a decrease in the non-oil activities index index by 0.4%, when compared to January 2026.
