Zayed Authority for People of Determination signs a memorandum of understanding to provide specialized dental services

Abu Dhabi, 9 April / WAM / The Zayed Authority for People of Determination signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dr. Mohamed Mounir Dental Centre, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation in the field of providing specialized dental services to people of determination, and facilitating their access to comprehensive and sustainable health care that takes into account their individual needs, in accordance with the highest medical standards approved in the United Arab Emirates.

The memorandum of understanding aims to establish an institutional cooperation framework that enhances people of determination’s access to specialized treatment services in the field of dentistry, by adopting a referral path from the authority to the center that ensures continuity and integration of medical care, thus contributing to the provision of advanced health services that meet their treatment needs.

The memorandum includes providing subsidized treatment services for people of determination, including direct insurance coverage for holders of “Thiqa 1 and 2” cards through the direct billing system, in addition to providing a 50% discount on cosmetic treatments and treatments not covered by insurance for holders of “Thiqa 1, 2 and 3” cards and the uninsured, which contributes to alleviating financial burdens and enhancing ease of access to specialized health care.

The center provides a therapeutic environment fully prepared to receive people of determination of all categories, including wheelchair users and severely disabled cases who depend on supportive medical devices such as oxygen devices and feeding tubes, in order to ensure that they receive safe and integrated therapeutic services that take into account their special health needs.

The memorandum of understanding includes cooperation in training and qualifying people of determination and preparing them for the labor market in coordination between the two parties, in a way that enhances their professional readiness and supports their economic and social empowerment paths.

His Excellency Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, confirmed that the signing of the memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the Authority’s strategy aimed at expanding the network of partnerships with the private health sector, and strengthening the integrated health care system that supports the empowerment of people of determination and improving their quality of life.

His Excellency pointed out that the Zayed Authority for People of Determination is keen to build qualitative partnerships that put the needs of people of determination at the top of priorities, and contribute to developing the health services provided to them, which reflects the authority’s commitment to enhancing integration between the health and social sectors, in line with the vision of the wise leadership in building a more inclusive and empowering society for all.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Munir Juma Musa Al-Salwadi said: “We have designed a therapeutic environment in which ‘challenges’ are transformed into ‘possibilities’, to prove to the world that specialized care for people of determination is not an optional luxury, but rather an inherent human right.

Areas of cooperation between the Authority and the Center also include implementing specialized training programs to build the capabilities of the center’s medical and administrative staff, in a way that enhances the skills of dealing with people of determination, developing methods of communicating with them, and providing comprehensive health care that takes into account their different needs.

The two sides are working to launch joint awareness and community initiatives to introduce the community of people of determination and their families to the available health services, thus contributing to enhancing health awareness and facilitating access to specialized treatment services.
