المملكة: Meteorology: Moderate to heavy rain in 10 areas until Tuesday


Most regions of the Kingdom witness A rainy condition Extensive thunderstorms lasting for five days, starting Friday, April 10, and continuing until Tuesday, April 14, with moderate to heavy precipitation, amid warnings of accompanying dangers, according to the National Center of Meteorology.

The center, represented by the General Administration, revealed Weatherand climate, the situation includes the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Najran, Riyadh, Sharqiya, the northern borders, Al-Qassim, and Medina, with the intensity of rain varying in time and space.

He explained that the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region is affected by moderate to heavy rains in the governorates of Turbah, Al-Mawiya, Al-Khurma, and Rania throughout the situation period until April 14.

Variable rains

He added that Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Ardiyat are witnessing similar heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday, while Al-Qunfudhah and Al-Layth are exposed to light to moderate rainfall between April 11 and 13.

He stated that Al-Kamil, Al-Jamoum, Bahra, and the Holy Capital recorded moderate rain on April 13 and 14, during the peak of the weather condition.

He pointed out that the Al-Baha region is affected by moderate to heavy rains covering most of its governorates, with expectations that their heavy rains will increase starting from Saturday, April 11, until the end of the situation.

He pointed out that the situation is extending to the Asir region, where moderate to heavy rains are hitting a wide number of governorates, with intensification starting from Saturday and continuing until Tuesday.

He reported that the Jazan region is witnessing moderate to heavy rains in the highlands, while the situation includes the rest of the governorates until Monday, April 13.

He confirmed that the Najran region was affected by moderate to heavy rains, including Najran, Badr al-Janoub, Habouna, Yadma, and Thar throughout the period of the situation.

He explained that the Riyadh region is recording moderate to heavy rains in Wadi Al-Dawasir, Al-Sulail, and Al-Aflaj until April 14, with an expected peak on Sunday and Monday..

He added that the capital, Riyadh, and the governorates of Diriyah, Dalam, Al-Muzahmiya, Durma, Al-Kharj, Al-Hareeq, Hotat Bani Tamim, and Marat will be affected on April 11 and 12, with rain chances returning on Tuesday.

He pointed out that Rmah, Shaqra, Al Majmaah, Zulfi, Al Ghat, and Thadig will witness light to moderate rain on Saturday, while Al Rayn, Al Quwayiyah, Dawadmi, and Afif will be affected by moderate to heavy rain until the end of the situation.

Sharqiya rain

He indicated that the eastern region falls within the scope of the situation, as Hafar Al-Batin and Al-Khafji are exposed to moderate to heavy rain on Saturday, which later extends to Dammam, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Al-Khobar, and Abqaiq on Saturday and Sunday.

He added that Al-Ahsa and Al-Udayd will record moderate to heavy rains until Monday, April 13, within the scope of the continuing influence.

He pointed out that Al-Qassim is witnessing light rain in a number of its governorates on Saturday, while the northern border is exposed to moderate rainfall in Rafha and Al-Uwaiqila on the same day.

He explained that Medina will be affected by light to moderate rain covering the city and its governorates on Tuesday, April 14.

The center warned that the rainy condition may be accompanied by descending winds that raise dust and dust, reaching speeds of about 60 km/hour, in addition to torrential rains, hail, and high waves on the coasts, and the possibility of the formation of water towers.

He called for following up on weather situation updates through his official reports and platforms, stressing that initial forecasts indicate continued chances of rain in most regions of the Kingdom until the end of next week, with periodic updates according to developments in the situation.
