"Abu Dhabi Civil Defense" Organizes a forum "Community responder"

ABU DHABI, 10 APRIL/WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority organized the First Community Responder Forum for Volunteer Work, in Al Azm Hall in the Administration Complex building, as part of the second phase of the “Our Society is Ready” campaign, in the presence of Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, and a number of leaders and strategic partners.
In his opening speech, Al Dhaheri stressed that the forum consolidates the culture of volunteer work and enhances community cohesion, noting that volunteer work has become an essential pillar in supporting the safety system, through the integration of roles between different parties within a sustainable institutional framework that contributes to enhancing public safety, protecting property, and improving the quality of life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
He pointed out the authority’s keenness to prepare qualified volunteer cadres to support civil defense teams and partners, and to spread the culture of prevention as a way of life, thus enhancing society’s readiness and ability to respond to various emergency situations.
Al Dhaheri explained that the launch of the “Community Responder” application represents a qualitative step towards empowering community members and enhancing their active participation, by qualifying them according to approved training programs, which supports the speed of response and raises the efficiency of dealing with incidents, in line with international best practices.
He expressed his thanks to the strategic partners for their role in the success of the general framework document for volunteer work, praising the role of the Abu Dhabi Police General Command, the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management – Abu Dhabi, the Community Contributions Authority – Together, the Emirates Foundation (Sand Program), the Wajib Volunteer Association, the Zayed Volunteer Search and Rescue Team, and the Al Ain Volunteer Rescue Team.
The forum included an introductory presentation on the “Community Responder” application and the registration mechanism, in addition to a review of the training programs designated for volunteers, which contributes to their qualification according to the highest professional standards.
He witnessed a dialogue session that discussed ways to enhance volunteer work, focusing on ensuring the safety of volunteers, clarifying role protocols and limits of responsibilities, in a way that supports the efficient implementation of volunteer initiatives, and addressed the importance of qualifying volunteers in the areas of occupational safety, as it is a pivotal element in the public safety system.
