Al-Nasr wins over Al-Ain and Baniyas surpasses Al-Jazira in Super Volleyball

Dubai, April 10 / WAM / Al-Nasr team began its campaign in the combined session of the Volleyball Super Cup, in which 4 teams participate, by defeating Al-Ain by a score of 3-2, at the opening of the third tournament of the local season organized by the Federation of Volleyball.

Al-Nasr, champion of the league and the Federation Cup this season, succeeded in resolving a strong and marathon confrontation against one of the most prominent competitors for the title, after taking the lead in the first half (25-20), before losing the second and third halves (26-28) and (20-25), then returning and equalizing the score by winning the fourth half (25-22), and deciding the tiebreaker (15-12).

In the second match, Bani Yas won over Al Jazira in three games without a response (25-23), (25-20) and (26-24).

Baniyas topped the standings with 3 points, followed by Al-Nasr with two points, then Al-Ain with one point, and finally Al-Jazira with no points. The competitions will continue tomorrow with the matches between Al-Nasr and Baniyas, and Al-Jazira with Al-Ain.

Murad Sinun, Al-Nasr coach, confirmed that the match was equal and difficult as expected, and was decided with partial details, indicating that the competition is still open in light of the similar levels of teams.

He added that the competition in the tournament is still open in light of the presence of strong teams such as Baniyas and Al Jazira, stressing that the most important goal is to provide enjoyable matches that befit the tournament and delight the fans.

He pointed out that after his team won two league titles, the Federation Cup this season, the Super Cup represents its last stop this season, after it bid farewell to the President’s Cup tournament.

Al-Nasr player Amer Al-Marzouqi explained that the victory was achieved after a strong confrontation that witnessed fluctuations in the result, expressing the team’s ambition to complete its successful season by adding the Super Cup title, in light of the great support that the team enjoys.

While Tunisian Riyad Al-Hudhaili, coach of the Baniyas team, expressed his happiness at achieving victory in the first Super Cup match on the island, stressing that the level of competition in the tournament is very strong, and its title can only be decided in the last round, after each team has played its full matches.
