We are negotiating with Iran… and Trump wants a comprehensive agreement

US Vice President J.D. Vance announced that negotiations with Iran are continuing, despite the failure of the first round in Islamabad to reach an agreement between the two parties.

Vance stressed that US President Donald Trump “wants a comprehensive agreement with Iran, not a limited agreement.”

He also stated that the two-week ceasefire is “coherent” in the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28.

Vance, who led the American delegation in the first round of discussions, added, “Iranian negotiators want to conclude an agreement.”

He continued: “I feel satisfied with the current situation.”

He considered that “there is a lot of mistrust between the United States and Iran, and this cannot be overcome overnight.”

Vance repeated his talk about “commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons,” and “in doing so, we will help it prosper and grow its economy, and that will be a great thing for us and for the world,” as he put it.
