"Federal National" Participates in the Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement in Istanbul
ISTANBUL, 16 APRIL/WAM/ His Excellency Ahmed Mir Hashem Khoury and His Excellency Khaled Omar Al Kharji, members of the Federal National Council group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, participated in the fifth conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held on the sidelines of the meetings of the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in the Turkish Grand National Assembly during the period from 14 to 19 April 2026, in the city of Istanbul.
His Excellency Ahmed Mir Hashem Khoury stressed, during the intervention of the Federal National Council, that the current stage requires clear and responsible parliamentary positions, based on rejecting escalation and tensions, and calling for peaceful solutions and dialogue as a strategic option for resolving conflicts, stressing the importance of strengthening parliamentary coordination between the parliaments of non-aligned countries, in a way that contributes to confronting common challenges and supporting international efforts aimed at achieving security, stability and sustainable development.
His Excellency also stressed the need to condemn the Iranian attacks on the UAE, the Gulf states and Jordan, which target civilian infrastructure and facilities, as they represent a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to the security and stability of countries and the safety of civilians, noting that protecting vital infrastructure is an integral part of the responsibilities of the international community in times of conflict.
