This is after the implementation of an integrated project that took into account the preservation of the architectural and structural elements of the Holy Kaaba in accordance with the highest international engineering, technical and operational standards, as this comes with the constant interest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – in launching periodic maintenance work to preserve its historical and architectural elements with the best technical solutions available.

The authority explained that the project was implemented within a precise operational plan that took into account the continued flow of the movement of the worshipers in the courtyard without affecting the performance of the ritual, as the work was carried out with high efficiency and at measured times, ensuring the highest levels of safety in maintenance work, which contributed to unifying efforts and achieving the highest levels of field coordination.
It indicated that the maintenance work took about 4,700 working hours, distributed over 31 main packages that included 305 various activities, including maintenance of the interior of the Kaaba. The Mushrifah, its surface and its external surroundings, in addition to carrying out careful examinations and tests of the internal elements, including wood, stones, marble and gold-plated metals, and implementing corrective treatments according to approved technical methodologies.
In addition to conducting specialized environmental studies by measuring the characteristics of the environment of the interior of the Holy Kaaba in a way that ensures the preservation of its internal components and the curtain with the highest levels of quality and sustainability.

She confirmed that the project was implemented with qualified national staff and using the latest technologies and materials that conform to international standard specifications. With the effective participation of the supporting authorities, which enhances the efficiency of operational performance and ensures the long-term sustainability of the components of the Holy Kaaba, as it is an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts to care for the Two Holy Mosques and develop the system of services provided to the guests of God to provide a safe and secure faith environment prepared to perform the rituals with ease and reassurance.
