The Syrian Minister of Endowments praises the UAE’s approach to consolidating the values ​​of Islam based on coexistence and peace

ABU DHABI, 29 April / WAM / His Excellency Muhammad Abu Al-Khair Shukri, Minister of Endowments of the Syrian Arab Republic, praised the interest of the United Arab Emirates in consolidating the tolerant human values ​​of the true religion, and its civilized approach in introducing its essence and lofty principles of respect for cultures, which made it a global model of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and respect for cultural and religious diversity among more than two hundred nationalities on its soil, and an international platform from which initiatives supporting world peace are launched.

This came during his visit to the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, where he was received at the Authority’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi by its Chairman, His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Darai, and a number of its officials.

Dr. Al-Darai welcomed the Syrian Minister of Endowments and briefed him on the Commission’s achievements and experience in managing religious affairs and the mechanism it follows in creating a sober Islamic discourse that keeps pace with the educational, awareness-raising and guidance needs of society in light of the development of life and the changes of the times, stressing the keenness of the state’s wise leadership to consolidate the tolerant religious teachings that call for coexistence and tolerance and spreading peace and tranquility, and its continued support for the Commission and its initiatives.

For his part, the Syrian Minister expressed his admiration for the strategy followed by the Authority in achieving its goals and providing its services to society in a civilized manner, using the latest digital and smart technology. He expressed his aspiration to raise the level of cooperation between the two sides and increase communication and coordination in a way that achieves common interests and contributes to the development of institutional work.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of cooperation in religious affairs by benefiting from experiences, exchanging expertise, and training imams and those in charge of legal discourse to enable them to convey the values ​​and tolerant message of Islam.
