An airline prohibits photographing its crew without permission… and imposes penalties that include disembarking passengers and preventing them from traveling

British Airways has announced that it has updated its conditions of carriage to include an explicit prohibition on photographing or recording cabin crew members without obtaining their prior consent. This comes in a step that reflects the tightening of privacy standards on board aircraft.
According to the new amendments, which were included under the “Unacceptable Behavior” clause, the company has the right to take immediate action against any passenger who films, broadcasts live, or takes pictures of the flight crew or company employees without permission.
These measures include stopping this behavior during the flight, or taking additional measures upon landing, such as removing the passenger from the plane or preventing him from completing the flight, and the matter may even amount to informing the competent authorities to take legal action.
The policy states that the company “may take any measures it deems reasonable to prevent the continuation of this behavior,” referring to giving the crew broad powers to deal with such situations inside the cabin.
