Dubai Police confirms the role of smart data in developing work

DUBAI, 2nd May / WAM / His Excellency Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Sector Affairs at Dubai Police, stressed the importance of the role of smart data and advanced analytics in developing police work, noting in this regard the decrease in criminal and disturbing reports during the first quarter of 2026, compared to the same period last year.

This came during his chairmanship of a meeting to evaluate the performance of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigations for the first quarter of this year, in the presence of a number of security leaders, where the attendees were briefed on performance indicators, analysis of reports, and the general security situation in the emirate.

He explained that Dubai Police paid great attention to fraud and cybercrime crimes, by intensifying preventive and awareness efforts, developing monitoring and analysis mechanisms, and strengthening cybersecurity systems, in a way that contributes to protecting society and its financial and digital gains.

He pointed out that specific initiatives, including awareness programs, the “Reconciliation is Good” initiative, and intensive field operations, contributed to reducing crime and enhancing the security response, in addition to settling a number of disputes and raising the level of legal awareness.

He stressed the importance of continuous analysis of patterns of traditional and electronic crimes and extracting indicators that support security decision-making.
