An atmosphere of shock in the home garden.. How did Arteta receive the news of Arsenal’s victory in the English Premier League?

Spanish coach Mikel Arteta said that he was grilling food alone in the garden of his home when his team, Arsenal, this week ended a 22-year wait for the English Premier League title in football.
A 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday confirmed that Arsenal would win the title for the first time since 2004.
Arteta said that winning the title after six and a half years at the helm of the club’s technical staff was “one of the best feelings I have ever experienced in my life.”
But the Spanish coach, in his first press conference since winning the title, admitted that he did not watch any part of City’s match at Vitality Stadium, after he left his players at the club’s training headquarters and returned to his home.
Spanish coach Pep Guardiola’s team had to win in order to maintain its hopes of regaining the title in the final round.
Arteta said Thursday: “I was supposed to be here at Colney (the training center), watching the match with the players and some members of the technical staff because this is what they wanted, but I could not.”
He added, “About 20 minutes before the match, I had to leave. I was not able to convey the energy I wanted, and in the end that was also their moment to live together in their own way and wait for the result.”
The Arsenal coach continued, “I went home, went out into the garden and started making a fire to prepare a barbecue. I didn’t watch any minute of the match. I was just hearing some sounds in the background from the living room, and then suddenly magic happened.”
He added, “My eldest son opened the garden door, ran towards me crying, then hugged me and said: We have become heroes, father.” He noted, “It was magical.”
The Gunners players returned early Thursday to conduct their first training since confirming that they had won the title.
The London team will end its campaign this season in the local league by facing its host Crystal Palace on Sunday before going into the Champions League final battle against French champion Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on the 30th of this month, aspiring to a historic double.
Arteta explained, “We will prepare for that match with the intention of winning and writing a new chapter in the club’s history.”
The Arsenal coach confirmed that winning the league title lifted a great burden from the team’s shoulders, at a time when the club aspires to win the Champions League title for the first time in its history.
The 44-year-old coach added: “It is a lot of feelings: joy, happiness and pride, but it is also a feeling of relief.”
He continued, “When you see so many people waiting so long for something to happen, and then you actually succeed in achieving it, you feel that everything we did was worth it. Now we have to maintain this energy and this positive momentum.”
Regarding the possibility of Arsenal entering the stage of dominance and winning more titles, Arteta said, “We have taken an additional step, and now we must prove that we have the ambition, quality, and continuity to achieve this.”
He noted, “This will be the next step for us as a football club, in every decision we make, in order to certainly maintain these levels, standards and ambitions.”
